A suspect stole mail from a USPS truck in front of a postal worker in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood on Monday afternoon, officials said.The mail carrier, a 57-year-old woman, told ABC7 camera that a person jumped in to the back of her truck, grabbed paper mail and ran away.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Two Illinois Men Sentenced for Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud, Bank Fraud, and Money Laundering (Rock Island, IL) – Two Illinois men – Erik Richard Jones, 46, and Mitchell Allen Melega, 38 – were sentenced on July 23, 2024, to multi-year prison sentences following their convictions for conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering. Jones, of Colona, Illinois, was sentenced to 54 months of imprisonment to be followed by five years of supervised release, and Melega, formerly of Orion, Illinois, was sentenced to 75 months of imprisonment to be followed by five years of supervised release. Both defendants were also ordered to pay $4,840,944.63 in restitution.

He lost his ability to move and speak, though he will deliver a brief and heartfelt message he put together through an eye-gaze device: “Hello Chicago. Thank you, Chicago.” The 66-year-old McMichael is part of a seven-member class that includes former Bears Devin Hester and Julius Peppers.
