Thief steals mail from truck in front of postal worker in West Loop: officials
A suspect stole mail from a USPS truck in front of a postal worker in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood on Monday afternoon, officials said.The mail carrier, a 57-year-old woman, told ABC7 camera that a person jumped in to the back of her truck, grabbed paper mail and ran away.ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. The Emerson Apartments building, located at 1135 Westgate St., sold for $60,250,000 on July 1. VA8 Emerson, LLC of Irvine, California, purchased the 20-story building from LMC Oak Park Holdings, LLC. The real estate transfer tax, or how much money the Village of Oak Park receives from the sale, is $482,000. The seller fronts that bill, according to Oak Park’s finance department. In Oak Park, the transfer tax is $8 per $1,000 of the sale price.
