Verisk puts Hurricane Beryl losses at up to $3B
Verisk Analytics Inc. said Friday that Hurricane Beryl caused between $2 billion and $3 billion in insured onshore property damage when it struck Texas earlier this month. The Jersey City, New Jersey-based analytics company said the storm, which made landfall near Houston on July 8 as a Category 1 hurricane after hitting several Caribbean islands and Mexico as a much stronger storm, caused widespread power outages.
