TJC president appointed to Workforce Solutions East Texas Board
TYLER, Texas — Dr. Juan E, Mejia, the President of Tyler Junior College, has been appointed to the board of Workforce Solutions East Texas. Workforce Solutions East Texas is a community partnership serving 14 counties in East Texas, encompassing a population of close to 900,000 people, 33,000 businesses and a labor force of over 413,000, including 12 public and private institutions of higher education, according to a press release from TJC. The organization provides no-cost recruitment and employment services to businesses and job seekers in the East Texas. The board works with elected officials in the region and serves as the primary source of local workforce policy, focusing on economic development and supporting the growth of business and industry, according to TJC.
