'Pathfinder' hoisted back into place at U.S. Space & Rocket Center
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — A nearly 50-year-old mockup that was part of the space shuttle development project is being reassembled for display at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Two huge cranes lifted the "Pathfinder" orbiter model back into place as part of the full shuttle assembly outside the Huntsville museum.

Man shot, killed early Wednesday morning in Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Birmingham Police are investigating a homicide that happened just after 6:30 a.m. August 28. The victim has not yet been identified. Auburn University parts way with Sodexo
AUBURN, Ala. (WSFA) - A recent report shows that Sodexo, a vendor with Auburn University, is laying off close to 200 employees. According to the Alabama WARN report, Sodexo Inc. and Affiliates at Auburn University are laying off 170 employees beginning August 31. In February of 2022, Sodexo started a three-year contract to become the university’s custodial service provider on the main campus and the College of Veterinary Medicine, as well as auxiliary services.
