BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - The State School Board will vote in a few weeks on whether to accept the intervention agreement the Bessemer City School board passed Monday night. Now that the board has approved the state intervention, the state school board will vote on the issue during their Aug. 8 meeting.

Dominant in-state 4-Star DL returning to visit Alabama
Vodney Cleveland confirmed he will return to Tuscaloosa to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. Cleveland is set to play his junior season at Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. Birmingham Applies for $2.6 Million in Federal Grants for Eviction Prevention Services, Police Tech Equipment
The Birmingham City Council on Tuesday voted to apply for two federal grants: one to help residents facing eviction and another for computer equipment for the police department.
