HIGGINSVILLE ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE

The Higginsville Electric Department received a 2023 Certificate of Excellence in Reliability from APPA during the Board of Aldermen meeting on Monday, July 1.

MPUA President and CEO John Twitty was in attendance at the meeting and presented the certificate to the Electric Department. The board wanted to congratulate Electric Superintendent Ron Kumm and his department for their excellence.

City Administrator Jeanette Dobson also informed the board on upcoming sidewalk projects scheduled on Main Street. The city received American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for the project, which is expected to start in either August or September. The work will start in the area from 15th Street north along the east side of Main Street to 11th Street. Owners will be notified if their sidewalk is on the list for repair or replacement.

Higginsville City Hall will be closed on July 4, in observance for the Independence Day Holiday.
