Drew University Hit by Two Fires, Local Agencies Contain Blazes
MADISON, NJ — Two separate fire incidents at Drew University have put the effectiveness and rapid response of local and state emergency services into sharp focus. The first incident, a brush fire in the Drew University Forest Preserve, occurred just before 10 a.m. on October 26, while the second, a structure fire at the university’s tennis courts, broke out just before midnight on October 27.

Pilot killed in Colonia plane crash: This week in Central Jersey history, Oct. 28-Nov. 3
A pilot died when the small plane he was flying crashed into a home in the Colonia section of Woodbridge on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019. No injuries were reported on the ground when the plane crashed into 84 Berkeley Ave. No one was inside the home at the time.
