Jeffrey S. Ellis
Jeffrey Scott Ellis, 54, of Pinehurst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice House, in Pinehurst. Jeff battled a long illness but was blessed to pass surrounded by all his family. Jeff was born in Medina, Ohio, on March 4, 1970, to the late William Perry Freeman Ellis and Dian Barber Ellis.
Sanford man arrested in shooting
A Sanford man was sitting in the Harnett County Detention Center Thursday on an assault charge for a shooting on Concord Lane. Deputies responded to a call of a reported gunshot victim at a home in the Cameron area of Harnett County on Wednesday.

Sanford man released from Lee jail charged in Cameron shooting
Jul. 25—A Sanford man who allegedly shot up a Sanford home was released on bond and then allegedly shot up a home in Cameron before being arrested over two weeks later after a high-speed chase. Carthage man arrested for felony sexual exploitation of minor
Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced an arrest on Thursday following an investigation in the Carthage area. On May 4, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office initiated an undercover investigation after receiving information regarding an individual allegedly in possession of child sexual abuse material. 3 injured in early morning rollover crash near Cameron
An early morning crash near Cameron sent three people to the hospital Tuesday. The crash happened just before 5:30 a.m. on N.C. Highway 24-27 at Bass Road. Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue posted on their Facebook page that the crash involved one vehicle, and that all three occupants had to be removed with the assistance of fire fighters. It appears the Jeep involved in the crash also hit a tree.
