Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) has informed North Carolina officials that it plans to close select manufacturing operations at its massive facilities in Rocky Mount and Sanford, resulting in hundreds of layoffs. <\p> The closures will result in the global pharmaceutical company terminating about 210 employees from the two facilities, including 60 workers in Rocky Mount and 150 in Sanford. <\p>

This past weekend at the Sanford Farmers Market, visitors had the option yo take part in a survey for a mobility hub in Downtown Sanford. Selections were made from ideas generated by public and business feedback. Ideas were posted regarding facilities and services like apartments, outdoor dining, and delivery pickup stations. Idea options were also posted for transit and micromobility features like e-bike rentals, car sharing, and e-scooters. Participants could choose what appealed to them most.
