GCS school application window changes

GUILFORD COUNTY – The application window for Choice Schools and Programs in Guilford County Schools middle schools and high schools opened on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and will close on Friday, Nov. 22, but the application window for elementary schools has changed.

The elementary school window will open on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and will close on Wednesday, Nov. 27. It is opening later than the window for middle schools and high schools because the Guilford County Board of Education voted on Tuesday night to retain Morehead Elementary School in Greensboro as an arts magnet school after the new visual and performing arts magnet school now under construction in Greensboro opens for the 2025-26 school year. Originally Morehead was to revert to a neighborhood-based arts school. That change in plans requires other changes in the materials available for families.
