HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — A High Point police officer is facing DWI charges after a traffic stop, according to police.

High Point police say that around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, officers noticed a motorcycle speeding in the area of North Main Street. They stopped the motorcycle on Eastchester Drive and Johnson Street. During this stop, officers concluded the rider was “under the influence of alcohol,” and identified her as Christian M. Pfahlert, 25, of High Point.

Pfahlert is an officer with the High Point Police Department, hired in 2022, and is currently on administrative leave after being charged with driving while impaired and speeding.

High Point Police Department’s Professional Standards Division is conducting an internal investigation. This is standard procedure.

“The law applies equally to everyone, and that includes people who wear our badge,” said Chief Curtis Cheeks III. “Our department’s commitment to serve and protect requires integrity. We will follow our department’s policy by conducting a full investigation of the incident and taking appropriate actions. We work every day to build trust with our community members. We owe it to each of you to hold everyone accountable when they break the law.”

She was not on duty and was using her personal vehicle when she was arrested.
