MALONE, N.Y. — A Malone man could spend the rest of his life behind bars after he was convicted of kidnapping. A Franklin County jury found 29-year-old Timothy Ropas guilty of several charges including kidnapping, burglary and criminal possession of a weapon in a trial held earlier this month.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found floating in Lake Champlain but say they do not believe it is suspicious. GRAND ISLE, Vt. (WCAX) - Police say one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Grand Isle. It happened Tuesday just before 6 p.m. on Route 2. Vermont State Police say Richard Meissner, 53, of Clark, New Jersey, and Shantel Lafountain, 26, of Champlain, New York, were both headed north when Lafountain rear-ended Meissner.
