Highland County man indicted in Centerville OVI crash that kills Miamisburg man
A Highland County man indicted Thursday is accused drinking and driving at the time of a head-on crash in February that killed a Miamisburg man in Centerville. Jonathan Michael Elkins, 45, of Hillsboro was issued a summons to appear for his July 25 arraignment in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court for two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two misdemeanor OVI counts.

Washington Court House man sentenced to prison for trafficking meth
A Washington Court House man already incarcerated in prison was sentenced to more time this week after pleading guilty to trafficking meth in Highland and Fayette counties. Donald J. Jordan II, 32, was indicted in February 2024 as the result of a Highland County Task Force drug investigation. He was charged with one count each of aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone, a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a third-degree felony; trafficking in a fentanyl-related compound in the vicinity of a school zone, a third-degree felony; and possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a fourth-degree felony.
