Take a Seat fundraiser raises money for Noyes Home
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo) During a historical year, celebrating 130 years helping kids in the area, the Noyes Home for Children's Take a Seat fundraiser returns again to raise money to help operate their mission. Each year, the fundraiser raises usually hits around $100,000 to assist the home in taking care of kids needing a place to stay. During Take a Seat, fundraising money comes from live and silent auctions, along with wine pulls and more. For Noyes Home executive director Chelsea Howlett, fundraising like this is a big part in being able to do what the home does. "I am always touched by just how generous our community is, from when we start to go out and solicit donations to have for our silent auction to honestly, my favorite part is fund a need," Howlett shared. "I'm always a little sick to my stomach thinking are we going to hit this goal? Then we start out with those $10,000 gifts, and sure enough, they come through."
