15-year-old Alabama ATV victim ‘lived life to the fullest’
Family and friends are mourning the death of a 15-year-old from Union Grove who was killed in an ATV crash Monday night. Danny “Gage” Jackson died in an incident that happened at about 11:50 p.m. Monday on Union Chapel Road, about four miles north of Arab in Marshall County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Potential tax increase in Trussville to fund new school facilities amid growing population
Residents in Trussville will vote on whether or not they want to see an increase in their property taxes on August 27th. The millage rate would increase from 62.1, to the max the state allows at 75. The 12.9 increase would go towards three projects for Trussville City Schools. Mayor Buddy Choat said the additional tax would generate five million annually. Currently, more than 30 mills of the property tax goes towards schools.
