    Police Reports: Two residential burglaries in Highland Park, cash stolen from car

    These reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

    WILMETTE

    March 26

    • A resident reportedly was scammed out of $2,000 after calling a number they found on the internet that was believed to be for product support.

    • The contents of a package reportedly were stolen from the 3500 block of Lake Avenue.

    March 24

    • A wallet reportedly was stolen from a purse while a customer was shopping at Jewel on Green Bay Road.

    • An unlocked bicycle value at $500 reportedly was stolen from the 1200 block of Green Bay Road.

    WINNETKA

    March 30

    • A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for $3,000.

    • A mailed check reportedly was stolen, altered and cashed for $3,124.

    March 29

    • More than $5,000 in cash reportedly was stolen from an unlocked car parked at Lloyd Beach, 799 Sheridan Road.

    March 25

    • A resident’s personal information reportedly was used to create a fraudulent business and rack up purchases of $5,000.

    GLENCOE

    March 26

    • A wall and picnic tables reportedly were vandalized with graffiti at Glencoe Beach, 55 Hazel Ave.

    HIGHLAND PARK

    March 30

    • A wallet reportedly was stolen from a car parked at LA Fitness, 115 Skokie Valley Road. The car’s key fob reportedly was stolen from a locker inside the facility.

    March 27

    • Numerous items reportedly were taken from a home in the 100 block of Vine Avenue. Windows were damaged to gain entry while the owners were out of town, police say.

    • Valuable worth $25,000 reportedly were stolen from a residence in the 1200 block of Cavell Avenue.

    March 26

    • A cart-full of items reportedly were stolen from Sunset Foods, 1812 Green Bay Road.

    NORTHFIELD

    KENILWORTH

    No reported activity between March 22-29
