Hudson County Sheriff's Office DWI Checkpoint: Promoting Public Safety
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ – The Hudson County Sheriff’s Office will be cracking down on drivers impaired by alcohol or drugs on Thursday, July 25th, by conducting a DWI Checkpoint in the area of Kennedy Blvd and Manhattan Ave in Jersey City. The primary purpose of this checkpoint is not to make arrests, according to Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired. The number of newly listed homes hitting the real estate market surged by over 30% in Hunterdon County last month, the latest figures from Realtor.com showed. Hunterdon County had 192 homes listed in June, up from 146 last year, according to the data. Cumberland County saw the second largest increase, at 19.40%.

Cranford Police Department's Youth Academy Was a Rousing Success
CRANFORD, NJ – Last week, Cranford Police Department hosted their annual Youth Academy which provides middle-school participants with hands-on exposure to various aspects of law enforcement. The Youth Academy offered 40 local Cranford cadets the unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement and gain valuable life skills along the way. “Our goal is to give these kids a real sense of what it means to be a police officer,” said Detective Ali Muhammad, organizer of this year’s academy. Highlights of the week included the New Jersey State Police’s helicopter presentation and a visit from the U.S. Secret Service. The program also covered important topics such as drug awareness, internet safety, and bullying prevention given by CPD’s Juvenile Detectives and Investigation Bureau. Two Tractor-Trailers Crash and Catch Fire in on NJ Turnpike in Monroe Township
MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ (MIDDLESEX)–New Jersey State Police, Sgt. Charles Marchan, told MidJersey.news that Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash at 12:47 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike North, milepost 73, Monroe, Middlesex County, Saturday July 20, 2024. Based on a preliminary investigation, two tractor-trailers were traveling north when they were involved in a collision. After the collision, one of the tractors began to catch on fire. No injuries were reported on scene. The crash remains under investigation, and there is no additional information available.

IRVINGTON — Five neglected pit bulls were rescued from an abandoned home in the Essex County Township, according to a report by News 12.
