Deadly shooting in Old East Dallas leaves man, 23, dead and neighbors fed up with recent violence
Neighbors at Roseland Townhomes in Old East Dallas said they were startled by a barrage of gunfire Wednesday night that killed a man and left bullet holes in cars and homes. Dallas Police said it responded to a shooting call in the 3500 block of Munger Ave. around 10:48 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived, they found a man outside the townhomes with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and died, according to a police news release.
North Texas reports more poor air quality days to date than all of 2023
A month into a hot Texas summer, Dallas-Fort Worth already has surpassed the number of poor air quality days reported in all of 2023. As of July 18, the region reported 17 days that ground-level ozone, or smog, exceeded levels considered healthy for all populations. In 2023, the area reported 13 ozone air quality alerts.

Troy Walters Will Be the Next Dallas Cowboys Head Coach
Troy Walters is no stranger to success. The former Stanford Cardinal was a dominant force in his college days. Walters was a consensus First Team All-American and won the Fred Biletnikoff Award for the best wide receiver in college football in 1999. However, during his time in the NFL, Walters did not see the same level of dominance he had in college. He only had 102 receptions, 1,135 receiving yards, and nine touchdowns in his NFL career. Walters was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings but went on to play for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, and Detroit Lions.

Texas Man Arrested After Fatal Crash in Hitchcock County
JULY 19, 2024 (NORTH PLATTE, NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested a Texas man following a fatal crash in southwest Nebraska.
