The 12th World Wilderness Congress will be looking at concerns and solutions to issues facing forest health, biodiversity, and wildlife. We’ll talk with elders actively addressing these issues. Also, we’ll hear updates from the group Apache Stronghold as they make their way across the country raising awareness of a copper mining project on Oak Flat in Arizona before stopping in Washington D.C. The group will turn to the U.S. Supreme Court for protections of the sacred site.

South Dakota gets an early start as the Coyotes host Northern State Thursday night at The Dakota Dome. Two-time defending FCS champion South Dakota State heads south to Stillwater, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon to take on Big 12 power and nationally 18th-ranked Oklahoma State. Someone is going to have an impressive streak come to an end in that game. Cowboys coach Mike Gundy is 15-and-oh all-time against FCS opponents. The Jackrabbits have won 29 in a row since opening the 2022 season with a 7-to-3 loss to Iowa out of the Big Ten Conference.

PARKER, SD — It was time to double up Friday at the IHRA Division 6 (Midwest) Summit Team Finals at Thunder Valley Dragways. There were two Gamblers races, along with tow-rig, track operators races and best appearing awards presented at the South Dakota drag strip. Set scores were 25-19, 25-20, 24-26, and 25-15. Both teams received votes (RV) to the NAIA Women's Volleyball Coaches' Top 25 preseason poll.
