Airbnb to limit Fourth of July weekend home reservations to prevent disruptive parties
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Thinking of renting a house to celebrate the holiday weekend with friends? Well, short-term rental giant Airbnb says it is cracking down. Airbnb is highlighting its measures to reduce “disruptive and unauthorized” parties over the Fourth of July weekend, as it did during Memorial Day weekend, it said in a news release. The effort limits the amount of one-night and two-night stays at entire homes during these holiday weekends.
Water wars heat up as Southwest Licking utility expands to include Union, Jersey Townships
As the demand for water and sewer grows, Licking County's only regional utility is expanding its reach to accommodate future growth. The Southwest Licking Community Water and Sewer District is making sweeping changes to the district, including inviting Union and Jersey townships to join its formal service area as well as its board of trustees, taking the board from three to five members. The communities currently do not have access to municipal water and sewer service.

To close out June and kick off summer recess, state lawmakers took dozens of votes in a 12-hour marathon session Wednesday. Most of Ohio’s big cities recorded at least one mass shooting during the month, but gun policy ranked low on the list of last week's priorities. Columbus, Akron, Cincinnati and Dayton all documented shootings where at least four victims were injured in June, according to the Gun Violence Archive, an online tracker.
