A supervisor at the Moline Post Office was recently arrested after a tip led to finding hundreds of greeting cards in his home. He’s accused of targeting items that likely contained cash or gift cards.
‘Mississippi just won’t behave’: Davenport farmers market setting up away from flooded river
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - The Freight House Farmers’ Market will move a couple of streets over to avoid floodwaters. In a Facebook post, it said officials they will set up on Saturday and Sunday in the Scott County Administration lot at 600 W. 4th St., Davenport. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Six Juveniles Apprehended with Stolen Vehicles in Kewanee
The FLOCK camera system aided in the apprehension of six juveniles in two stolen vehicles early Thursday morning. The Flock camera system alerted Kewanee Police that a vehicle reported stolen from Peoria had entered Kewanee city limits around 4:15 am on July 4, 2024. Kewanee Police officers and Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies began searching the area for the stolen vehicle, and located the vehicle at Beck’s South on Tenney Street. Along with the stolen vehicle, officers discovered another vehicle from Brimfield that was stolen, had not been reported yet.

(DES MOINES) – The Iowa Finance Authority Board of Directors today awarded a total of more than $10.6 million in federal housing tax credits to support the construction and rehabilitation of a total of 404 affordable rental homes for Iowans. The awards were made to 10 rental housing projects located in Burlington, Charles City, Davenport, Des Moines, Jefferson, Knoxville, Mount Pleasant, Oskaloosa and Spirit Lake.

INDIANOLA, Iowa — KCCI viewer Gentry Burton shared photos of her adult children kayaking down a flooded Indianola street this week. The Warren County town saw about 5 inches of rain Tuesday as strong storms pushed across the state. Labor Coalition Led by Massachusetts, Illinois, and Seattle Urges DHS to Extend Protection for Noncitizen Workers Amid Investigations
To protect noncitizen workers during investigations into labor violations, new measures are being introduced to strengthen their rights, the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, joined by the offices from Illinois and the Seattle Office of Labor Standards, has formed a coalition with 27 other labor enforcement agencies to petition the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Their request is to extend the Deferred Action Program period for these workers from two years to a minimum of four years, according to a press release from the Massachusetts AG's office.
