Tigard Police are trying to determine if a Tualatin man who approached three women at Cook Family Park — and grabbing one of them — on Monday, Aug. 12, may have had other victims.

That man, Jhonatan Temprana-Olivares, 29, was arrested Monday afternoon.

All three incidents occurred on Monday, Aug. 12, on the trail near the park’s volleyball court. That trail connects to neighborhoods along Tualatin Road.

The first woman reported she was running on the trail leading into Cook Park at 7:30 a.m. when she passed a man who was approaching her on the trail. Hearing a noise, the woman turned around to find Temprana-Olivares directly behind her. She pushed him away and yelled as he asked her what time it was.

Then, at 12:30 p.m. that same day, a second woman reported being assaulted by a man later identified as Temprana-Olivares.

“She reported she was on the walking path when a man came up behind her and grabbed her rear end with both hands,” said a police news release. “When she turned around, the man was already running away heading toward the woods.”

A short time later, Tigard police found and arrested Temprana-Olivares in a wooded area near the trail. He was lodged at Washington County jail on a charge of third-degree sex abuse and harassment.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, a third woman called in to report what she believed she also had an encounter with Temprana-Olivares. The woman reported that a man who matched his description approached her when she was walking her dog and asked for the time while petting her dog.

When she walked away, her dog stopped and the woman turned around to find the suspect directly behind her. He then reportedly complimented her and asked if she was single. The woman yelled at him and went into a nearby neighborhood.

Tigard police are asking anyone who may have had a similar encounter with Temprana-Olivares to call the nonemergency dispatch number at 503-629-0111 to talk to an officer or send an email to: tips@tigard-or.gov.
