    Donald L. Krahmer Sr.

    November 21, 1933 to March 3, 2024 - Donald L. Krahmer, Sr. was born to Albert Emil Krahmer and Helen Anna Pfahl Krahmer on November 21, 1933, in Blooming, Oregon. He was called to eternal life to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 4, 2024.

    Don was baptized at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Blooming and attended grade school at the Blooming School. His parents sold the family farm in 1947 and moved to Hillsboro, where Don attended Hillsboro High School, graduating in 1952.

    He entered the U.S. Air Force, where he fought in the Korean conflict. He married Joan Elizabeth Karnes in 1955 and attended Pacific University. Don was an early employee of Mrs. Reser’s Salads (where Mildred Reser hired him) and became a lifelong friend of Al Reser, his mother, Mildred, and his wife, Patricia Reser. He spent a career in the wholesale grocery industry working for Reser’s Fine Foods, Carnation Foods, Hervin Company, and then the food brokerage Kelley Clarke.

    He opened a Baskin and Robbins Ice Cream Shop in Sandy, OR, which he owned and operated until retirement. During this time and at his retirement, he resided in Gresham, Oregon. He then returned to his hometown of Hillsboro, Oregon, living at Cornell Estates in Hillsboro and White Piano Senior Care Center in Aloha, Oregon.

    He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Oregon. He lived a full life, enjoying hunting, fishing, friends, and family.

    His three children and their spouses survive him: Donald L. Krahmer, Jr. (Suzanne), Kriste Eros (Terry), and Michael (Mary Mann). He also leaves five grandchildren, Hillary Elizabeth Krahmer, Zachary John Krahmer, Katherine Eros, Nicholas Eros, and Amos Krahmer. He was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Jeanette Krahmer Sanders, and her husband, William Clifford Sanders, both of Seattle, WA.

    A private interment has been held at Valley Memorial Park and Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church located at 2194 SE Minter Bridge Road, Hillsboro, OR 97123, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church.
