Some strap in for the rides; others crave the food. But the Washington County Fair is also a destination for experiences that go beyond the typical attractions.

From July 19-28, Hillsboro’s Westside Commons will host a variety of free entertainment, including high-flying aerial shows, interactive musicals and more during the annual summer event.

Across from the Main Stage and high in the sky, acrobats will soar with gravity-defying stunts during i-Flip — “the ultimate aerial show.” Featuring aerial bungee performances, trampoline-wall tricks and a breathtaking 60-foot high fall, the performance is bound to leave you breathless.

In the Wingspan, visitors can explore the fascinating world of exotic creatures with Brad’s World Reptiles. Both educational and thrilling, the exhibit provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the most intriguing animals from around the globe.

The fair also serves as a venue for learning and discovery. Super Science, sponsored by NW Natural, transforms physics and engineering into an interactive playground of brainteasers and exhibits that offer a fun, accessible way to grasp scientific concepts.

On The Grove Stage, Molly’s Choose Your Own Adventure show brings to life a whimsical musical journey filled with audience participation, colorful costumes and catchy tunes.

Looking for a laugh? Check out the Silly Circus Show with Bri Crabtree, which blends a concoction of circus acts, vaudeville and comedy.

In classic fair fashion, performers will stroll the fairgrounds to match the lively atmosphere, including the likes of colorful jugglers Circus Luminescence and iconic mascot Big Fair Frank.

Admission to the fair is free. To purchase tickets for rides or learn more about this year’s attractions, check out www.bigfairfun.com .
