HILLSDALE TWP. — The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office said failure to check for oncoming traffic led to a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Hillsdale Township.

Deputies came upon a two-car crash around 3:55 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, on Mechanic Road near Bunn Road and quickly requested emergency medical personnel and firefighters to the scene.

A preliminary investigation showed that Remi Lyon, 21, of Allen was traveling eastbound on Mechanic Road in a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu when Samantha Bible, 43, of Pioneer, Ohio turned east off of N. Bunn Road in a 1993 Mitsubishi 4S and collided with the driver’s side of Lyon’s vehicle.

The vehicles came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.

That is a bad intersection. You have to look many times to make sure no one is coming up that grade in the road.
