Arrest made in connection with I-80/94 shooting
An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that happened in June. Detectives served an arrest warrant in the 7000 block of Birch Ave. in Hammond earlier this week, arresting 35-year-old Darrell Graham from Chicago. It happened as a result of the shooting that happened on June 3 along I-80/94 in Hammond.
David Cromer, Caitlin Sullivan Will Co-Direct
David Cromer and Caitlin Sullivan will co-direct the upcoming world premiere of Jordan Harrison's The Antiquities. A co-production of Playwrights Horizons, Vineyard Theatre, and Chicago's Goodman Theatre, the play will make an Off-Broadway bow at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theatre running January 20-March 2, 2025. The production will then head to the Goodman, with performances running May 3-June 1, 2025.

Budget for 2025 fiscal year approved with $9 million deficit
Forest Park commissioners approved the village’s budget for the 2025 fiscal year July 22 with an estimated $9 million deficit. The village council approved the spending of nearly $73 million as part of the village’s annual appropriations, which establishes legal spending limits for the village, often in higher amounts than what is listed in the village’s proposed budget so that the village has authority to use that money.
