Firefighters Battle 55,000-Acre Falls Fire in Harney County Amid Red Flag Warning and Evacuation Orders
The Oregon State Fire Marshal's office has called in reinforcements to confront the rapidly expanding Falls Fire, now spreading across 55,000 acres in Harney County with no signs of containment. As flames rage 20 miles northeast of Riley, the Blue Incident Management Team, along with four task forces, have been mobilized to stave off the inferno, which was fanned by hot, dry, and windy conditions on Saturday. "This highlights the substantial fire danger we are seeing," Oregon State Fire Marshal Mariana Ruiz-Temple stated about the swift escalation in fire activity.
