State of Emergency declared for Avery Road in Buckland
BUCKLAND, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The Buckland select board voted to declare a Local State of Emergency for Avery Road. The road and culverts were comprised by heavy rainfall on July 5th of this year and since then, the road has been closed to thru traffic, impacting 25 homes. Town officials met with a MEMA representative who recommended the state of emergency declaration to access financial opportunities for the repairs.

Man killed in two-car crash in Wilbraham, police say
A man was killed in a two-car crash on Route 20 in Wilbraham Wednesday evening, according to police. Officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Boston Road and Main Street shortly after 8:30 p.m., Wilbraham police said in a press release. First responders provided medical aid to those who were seriously injured in the crash, but one of the drivers was declared dead after being rushed to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer.
