Summers County ARH Auxiliary having raffle to benefit hospital

HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) - According to auxiliary member MaryBeth Merritt, The Summers County ARH auxiliary is holding a raffle until Oct. 15. The raffle is for a basket of goodies donated by area businesses. Items in the basket include flags, soap, candles, fishing tackle, coffee, a $50 gift certificate from Southern Roots, a hunting knife and many other amazing items. The basket was donated by Doris Cobb and decorated by Hinton Floral. Items in the basket were donated by Jack's Bargain Barn, Big 4 Drugstore, Ice-cream Shack, Berry's Store, Gone Fishing  Hinton Hardware, Detras's Boutique, Hinton Floral, Hinton Outfitters, Southern Roots and auxiliary members. Tickets are $1 each, 6 for $5 or an arm length for $10. They may be purchased at the gift shop located inside of SCARH.

According to Merritt, a portion of the proceeds of everything they sell goes directly back to the hospital. If the hospital needs to purchase something new they come to the auxiliary and tell us and we make it happen. For instance, all the flooring seen in the lobby was paid for by the auxiliary. "We get anything the hospital needs. The money from the gift shop goes back to help the hospital. We sell t-shirts, a large selection of cards, snacks and other items," Merritt said.
