HINTON, WV (WVNS) – The 59 th annual West Virginia State Water Festival is kicking off this Saturday in Hinton.

58th Annual West Virginia Water Festival kicks off with an ‘All Pet Parade’ in Hinton

On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the festival will begin with several events, including the pet parade at 9:30 A.M. and music performances at Saturdays in the Park starting at 5 P.M.

There will also be water themed events, like Sun, Swim, and Safety for Kids starting at 10 A.M. and a Halloween-themed Night Swim starting at 8 P.M., both at the Wild Water Express.

City of Hinton Mayor, Jack Scott explained to 59News why Hinton is the perfect spot for the Water festival.

“Hinton is just a great backdrop. Of course, the festival was created to celebrate what we’ve been bestowed. We have 3 rivers and a lake here, so we’re kind of nature’s outdoor water park here. So I think the event was started 59 years ago to create exposure about that,” said Mayor Scott.

The Water Festival lasts from Saturday, July 20, 2024 through Saturday, July 27, 2024.
