HINTON, WV (WVNS) – The 59 th annual West Virginia State Water Festival is beginning to ramp up its activities.

However, the rainy weather southern West Virginia is experiencing is not what some would deem “festival weather” and it may discourage those from partaking in the festivities.

The City of Hinton City Manager, Cris Meadows told 59News this weather will not dampen their spirits.

“It is a true Water Festival in the fact that the rain has hit. We are going on as scheduled whether it rains or not. We are hoping that the rain holds off and that we have a wonderful festival,” said Meadows.

The food trucks have arrived and set up shop around the Summers County Memorial Building and 2nd Avenue.

These food trucks offer several different options that Hinton does not normally have like Japanese food, donuts, and Mexican food.
