HINTON, WV (WOWK) — An event that put thrill seekers to the test over a 24 hour period, generated more than $21,000 for charity.

The 24 Hours of Appalachia Miner’s and Logger’s Delight was a chance for riders of motorsport bikes, side-by-sides, SUV’s, jeeps and trucks to take on more than 400 miles of some of West Virginia’s roughest and most challenging roads with some of the most beautiful scenery.

Endurance riders came from dozens of states across the nation to participate. The event started and ended in Hinton.

Sunday night Hinton’s Mayor presented the organizers of the event with a key to the city.

In addition to staying in hotels and eating at local restaurants riders donated more than $21,000 to the non-profit organizations called The NOAH Foundation and Harmony’s Breath.

The Backroads of Appalachia and The West Virginia Gambler 500 sponsored the event.
