UPDATE: Suspect in Milton shooting arrested
MILTON, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a shooting earlier this month in Milton. The incident took place shortly before 8 p.m. on July 14th, in the area of Cool Spring Road and Fisher Road. Police initially responded to the report of a Ford Explorer that crashed into a utility pole, learning that the driver, a 27-year-old Laurel man, had been shot in the back. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Sussex P&Z reopens public record on Northstar
Editor’s note: A second story about the July 17 public hearing, including comments from the opposition, will appear in an upcoming edition of the Cape Gazette. Although the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission did not vote on the four applications for the Northstar Property LLC project near Lewes, commissioners did vote to reopen the public record for one item – to request information from Cape Henlopen School District to provide an estimated population of school-aged children within the residential section of the project at build-out of 758 housing units.
Children’s Learning Garden celebrates annual Ladybug Day
Lewes in Bloom hosted its annual Ladybug Day celebration July 19, at the Children’s Learning Garden in Stango Park. About 70 children and their families arrived at 10:30 a.m. to pick vegetables, engage in arts and crafts and learn about Delaware’s state insect before releasing more than 3,000 live ladybugs.
