MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Artwork by a recent graduate of Quitman High School is now on display in the halls of Congress after winning a competition. Garrett County Junior Golf Tour: Winnfield Tournament 4
A beautiful, breezy, and cool July 1st here at Winnfield today. Great rounds today from all the players, showing tons of improvement all around and a very fun day. The Scheffler Tour was topped by Carter Bishoff with a 48 at a smaller margin than previous tournaments with Noah Luzier right on his tail. The Woods Tour was commanded by Wyatt Johnson and his 43 with 3 birdies in a row! But Carter Goff and Quincy Cavazos were close behind keeping the pressure on Wyatt. Our Nicklaus Tour was another right race with Brooks Mead leading the way with a 43. Alex Benton followed right behind with his 45.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - After serving the City of Monroe as fire chief for 36 years Terry Williams is retiring. The city announced his retirement in a press release with Mayor Friday Ellis saying in part, “The retirement of Chief Terry Williams marks the end of an era for the Monroe Fire Department.” Mayor Ellis continued by saying, “His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community will leave a lasting mark. We are profoundly grateful for his service and wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”
