The Friends of Cookeville and Putnam County Animals are hosting an event to provide affordable treatments and screenings for pets in the community. The events are called H.E.A.R.T.S which stands for Helping Every Animal Receive Treatments and Services. The event will consist of treatments such as vaccines and lab work. President of the organization Sarah Hawlik said they are hosting the event as they saw a need for affordable pet care in the community.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Police arrested Cedric Taylor after he allegedly tried to steal a car on Thursday morning. Police credited one man’s quick actions for the arrest. It happened at Lucky’s Custom Wheels and Tires on Lafayette Street. Police said a woman was waiting outside the shop to get her car serviced when a man punched her in the face and tried to take her car.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - One part of the indictment against Jeffrey Vappie states he went online to search for an alleged affair that involved public officials in another city. According to the indictment, Vappie conducted online searches of the scandal surrounding the former mayor of Nashville and a member of her security detail. In 2017, rumors of a romantic affair between then Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and her bodyguard, police sergeant Robert Forrest.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man has been indicted in a WeGo station shooting in downtown Nashville that left a teenager shot. Kenneth Dewayne Johnson, 31, of Nashville was indicted by a federal grand jury with an unlawful possession of ammunition, the US Attorney's Office for Middle District of Tennessee reports.
