    Dolli Irigoyen

Dolli Irigoyen is a master cook who has left her imprint in Argentina due to her incredible efforts. In 2023, she took home the Icon Award, a recognition granted by the organization 50 Best Restaurants, hosted last November in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Inspired by her love of local food, Irigoyen's mission has been based on traveling through Argentina and rescuing ancient practices in the country's oldest towns. "I think what I've given gastronomy is inspiration," she said in an interview with La Nacion.

"I think that all of that I've been transmitting and that has stimulated many cooks to think more local, more regional and indigenous."

From a young age, Irigoyen had an interest in cooking, a passion that she began to develop in her hometown of General de las Heras, where she began selling cakes while she worked as a teacher. As a part of her culinary legacy, Irigoyen has been involved in the publishing of books, TV shows, and restaurants, all based on Argentinean traditional cuisine.

Throughout her career, Irigoyen has shared tips with her audience, teaching them to cook from the simplest dishes to jewels of the culinary scene in Argentina. "I think I've shared my great passion for the Argentinean product. I fought very hard for that," she said.

Irigoyen has also acquired fame due to her talent in baking, one of her strengths. "Dessert is dessert. The happy ending everyone is waiting for. I'm the one who makes all of the birthday cakes for my family, including my five grandkids, and my nieces and nephews. Whenever I have to go to the doctor, I always take something sweet," she said in an interview with Infobae . She also revealed that she teaches them some of her secrets.

Irigoyen's teachings aren't limited to her family. Over 40 years, she's been involved in the making of dozens of TV programs, sharing some of the most vibrant and special recipes in Argentinean cooking. Over the past years, she's been one of the strictest judges in MasterChef. "I don't have a problem with being strict and demanding. I like to do things right," she said.
