LONGMONT, CO - The City of Longmont and Latino Chamber of Commerce will host a virtual workshop series on how to start a business in Douglas County. The workshops will teach you about due diligence before starting your business.

The workshops will be held every Wednesday from Sept 1st - 22nd, 2021 at 6 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. The series will be in Spanish, but English interpretation will be available.

Click here to register for the workshop series.

The event is in partnership with Isuma! Latina, City of Longmont Sustainable Business Program, Colorado SBDC, Boulder County Public Health, and Town of Erie, and sponsored by Alpine Bank.

In the workshop series, you will learn about several aspects of consideration about starting a business. What is the right business structure for you, an LLC, Sole Prop, or S Corp, or the location of the business, for example, a food truck, autobody shop, or a restaurant.

Other than that, the series will also provide you with information about Licenses and Permits, Public Health Inspections, how to save on your taxes, how to protect your business from fraud and accidents, and how to save on electricity, water, and gas bills.

After the series, you will get the opportunity to do a one-on-one consulting with Boulder Small Business Development Center (SBDC), an economic development nonprofit, about business plan development, financial projection, marketing, and many more.

The Boulder SBDC has helped all types of business over the last 20 years from startups through 2nd stage businesses and provides free business consulting, practical workshops and events, and connections to resources.
