Come Fill the Form: Arapahoe County is asking for People’s Feedback about the Mask Mandate for School Children

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, CO – On August 18, 2021, public health order released by the Tri-County Health Department requires all children from 2-12 years old to wear a face mask for any indoor school and child care settings in Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties. Any individual who works and actively interacts with the children also requires to wear a face-covering as well. Arapahoe County commissioners will hold an open public study session about the mask order.

This decision is made by considering that some public areas have high rates of community transmission. However, the public health order said that it is allowed for counties to opt out of the order. Furthermore, school districts and employers also have the authority to do their own mask mandates that fit their conditions.

To gain a better understanding and gather more information related to the issue, Arapahoe County commissioners will hold an open public study session about the mask order, on August 30, 2021. Due to the many public comments received from residents about the mask mandate, Arapahoe County created an online form to do a survey and get more feedback from the public.

This survey form will be available till August 28, 2021, and the survey results will be tabulated and will be presented to the Arapahoe County commissioners in a study session. The online survey form consists of four kinds of questions. First people need to clarify their zip code (to see the geographical breakdown of responses), then in which city do the respondents live, next to a question whether respondents support Arapahoe County to opting out of the Tri-County Health Department’s school and child care center mask mandate, and the last part is a free space for respondents to share their additional comments and opinion about this order.
