Scattered showers and isolated storms possible today. Widespread rains expect for much of this week.
East Texas (KLTV/KTRE) - Happy Sunday, East Texas! Earlier this morning a few showers made their way into the area and more showers/thundershowers will be possible throughout the day in a limited form, so it would be a good idea to have the umbrella and an indoor “Plan B” for any outdoor plans just to be safe. Expect a mix of sun and clouds today with highs remaining below average in the upper 80s to near 90°. Rain chances will eventually increase early Monday as a potent upper-level system brings widespread rains to East Texas for the majority of the upcoming work week. Severe weather is not likely, but some very heavy rains will be possible and some localized flash flooding could become a problem by Tuesday or early Wednesday. Scattered rain chances will likely continue on Thursday and Friday, although coverage should be slightly less widespread compared to what we could see for the first half of the week. Thanks to cloudy skies and scattered rain chances you can expect temperatures to trend well below average with highs for most only climbing into the mid to upper 80s each afternoon.
