A grant of $35,000 will go a long way for seven nonprofits within the Magic Valley.

On June 26, the Women’s Giving Connection of Southern Idaho , part of the Idaho Community Foundation , awarded $35,000 to a handful of nonprofit organizations during its third ever grant cycle.

It is the largest grant cycle award for the WGC since its inception in 2021.

“This is our third grant cycle and our biggest amount awarded to date,” said Linda Watkins, president of the WGC, in a statement. “Through the collective giving of our 67 members, we were able to help seven deserving nonprofits. Good things are happening in the Magic Valley!”

The seven recipients are the City of Hollister for the Hollister Pantry program; Idaho Playground Project; Magic Valley Pediatric Cancer Coalition; Twin Falls Optimist Foundation; Twin Falls School District 411 Educational Foundation Inc. for its No One Eats Alone program; United Way of South Central Idaho for its Gemstone Adaptive Climbing program; and the Valley Housing Coalition for its Warming Station program.

The WGC of Southern Idaho is a “group of women dedicated to creating pooled giving opportunities and building a collective giving endowment.” More information about the organization and how to get involved, visit womensgivingconnection-southernidaho.org.
