HOLLISTER, Mo–It’s Monday, which means we have another chance to tour one of the Ozarks signature golf holes.

KOLR 10’s Chris Pinson takes us down to Hollister.

We usually think of number 13 as unlucky.

But down at Ozarks National, hole number 13 is a thing of beauty.

Chris Pinson/KOLR 10 sports: “Hey there, welcome to week five of Ozarks First Tee.

Today I’m back in Branson at Ozarks National Golf Course.

One of the prettiest courses in all of Branson for Big Cedar.

Where I’m joined by Director of Golf Sales and Marketing, Matt McQueery, who’s gonna tell us all about what makes number 13 such an ideal hole.”

Matt McQueery/Marketing Director Big Cedar Golf, “Thirteen is a really pretty hole. It’s a long par 4 playing 480 yards off the back tee. But off the opening tee shot you have this canyon you have to navigate so you have to get your ball in the air over to the fairway to survive it.

Once you make it over the canyon you have to navigate some bunkers that are waiting for you on the other side. From there, you want to favor the left side of the fairway. It’s pretty wide left to right. It’s hard to miss once you make it over the canyon.

But the further you are to the right the longer your approach shot to the green is gonna be. So you wanna hug that left side and give yourself a shorter shot into the green.

There’s a really good aiming point off the fairway, there’s actually a tree on the farside of the fairway that has a V in it. That’s a really good aim point off the tee. From there, you’re hopefully looking a short to midiron into the green, an elevated shot up the hill.

You’ve got a bunker on the right protecting it, as well as a tree on the left. So hopefully you’re landing on the green, giving yourself a good look at birdie or at least a two-putt par to get out of there safely. Beating this challenging hole.

Matt, thank you so much for the insight on number 13. That gorge sure is scary looking, but the way you played the hole it makes it look just as easy as it is pretty,” said Pinson.

MCQUEERY: Once you know how to navigate it it makes it a lot easier, plus it’s really pretty.

PINSON: It is gorgeous for sure. Well do me a favor, if you enjoyed today, make sure you tune in next week for our final signature hole of the summer golf series. You won’t want to miss it.

Reporting in Branson, at Ozarks National Golf Course, for Matt McQueery, I’m Chris Pinson KOLR10.
