WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Applications for the 2024-2025 Mayor’s Youth Council have opened and the City of West Monroe is encouraging high schoolers to apply. The Mayor’s Youth Council helps students develop their leadership skills through volunteer work and by teaching them how the municipal government works. JEANERETTE, La. (KPEL News) - The Lafayette Police Department has confirmed one of their own was killed in the line of duty in Jeanerette, Louisiana on Thursday.
