Wilmington City Council rejects offer for 4 downtown properties
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A surprise offer to buy several downtown Wilmington was a topic of discussion at Tuesday’s Wilmington City Council meeting. Dinosaur Holdings LLC offered $16 million for four pieces of property: the Market Street parking deck, Second Street parking deck, and the United Bank Building and its parking lot.
Construction Begins in Wilmington on Metronet’s $30M Fiber-Optic Network
Construction in Wilmington has begun on a $30M fiber-optic network that will bring multi-gigabit internet service to the city’s homes and businesses, Metronet announced today. Named the fastest major ISP in the country for 2024 by PCMag, Metronet will offer customers ultrafast speeds of up to five gigabits per second for residents and up to ten gigabits per second for businesses.

Pender County nonprofit getting closer to moving into new location
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County non-profit is in the process of moving to a new location to better serve those in need. Share The Table is an organization that provides free community meals and a food pantry. They give away more than 1,000 meals to people in Pender and Onslow County per week. The faith-based organization is in the process of moving to a larger location in Hampstead off Highway 17 on Perkins Drive. The new location will allow them to offer more services, such as education and cooking classes. Dawn Ellis, the nonprofit’s Executive Director said she’s excited they’re going to be able to help more people.
