The city of Holly Springs has taken another step toward building its new city hall.

Construction on the facility is expected to start in spring 2025.

The Holly Springs City Council unanimously voted July 1 to approve an agreement between the city and Molnar Jordan and Associates, Inc. for mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for the city's new city hall building in the Town Center .

Through the agreement, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design for the city hall will be updated so that the city can send a request for bids in late fall, Holly Springs City Manager Rob Logan said.

The MEPs will be included in the bid along with the architectural and structural plans. Clark Patterson Lee Architects will prepare the architectural plans and bidding for the new city hall.

As part of the bidding process, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design has to be revised to reflect changes in the architectural plans for city hall.

Molnar Jordan and Associates served as a subcontractor on the original architectural plans prior to the latest revisions.

Minor changes have been made to the configuration of the floor plan on each level as well as stairwell and elevator locations, Logan said. These changes affect the MEPs as well as the structural elements of the building.

"The bid set should be completed in late fall," Logan said. "We anticipate sending out the request for bids in December. The notice to proceed with construction should be issued in the spring of 2025."

The new city hall is projected to cost $12 million, Logan said. The funding for the building will come from Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues.
