    Carnival underway in Hollywood

    The Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department carnival continues this week from July 18 to 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the firehouse grounds. There will be food, games and rides as well as raffles and bingo. For more, go to https://hvfd7.com/.

    Theater to stage ‘Seussical’

    Children’s Theatre Southern Maryland will stage “Seussical” at 6 p.m. Friday, July 19, and at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at St. Nicholas Lutheran Church, 1450 Plum Point Road in Huntingtown. Go to https://ctsmd.org/.

    College music series concludes

    St. Mary’s College of Maryland will host its free River Concert Series featuring Europe and the Jazz Influence at 7 p.m. Friday, July 19. Food trucks will be on site. No pets. The concert is the last in the series. Go to www.smcm.edu/river-concert/.

    Youth orchestra to perform

    Charles County Youth Orchestra’s Chamber Music Festival will present two free concerts in the garden of Christ Church, 112 Charles St. in La Plata, on Saturdays, July 20 and 27, at 8 p.m. In case of inclement weather the concerts will be held inside the church.     Hyland brothers to perform

    ‘She ROSE’ play upcoming

    Affordable housing talk set
