Kevin Saint Clair Scholarship Fund Created at Ben to the Shore Bike Ride
Last November in Philadelphia, Kevin Saint Clair was struck by a car and killed while riding his bicycle home. Kevin, a teacher and former National Team rower, was a beloved teammate, coach and friend. On Sunday, July 21st, a group of his rowing friends participated in the 37th Annual Ben to the Shore, a 65-mile ride from Philadelphia's Ben Franklin Bridge to Atlantic City's Showboat Casino. The group of twenty riders raised more than $33k. The ride benefits the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit which Kevin and his family have long supported. Team Kevin placed 8th in overall fundraising - competing against more than 100 teams' and 2300 riders.

Three suspects were charged in connection with a robbery at a restaurant in Mercer County, where investigators say several customers were assaulted.Surveillance video of the incident shows the moment a group of suspects entered Super Pollo Two along South Clinton Avenue in Trenton just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.Once inside, the video shows the group assaulting customers in the restaurant. They were seen hitting the victims with chairs and barstools.Police later arrested Darrius Wade, Fausto Delacruz, and a 14-year-old boy in connection with this incident.Authorities say two additional suspects are being sought in this case.Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact Trenton police.
17-year-old arrested in attempted carjacking, shooting that killed NJ dad protecting his kids
A 17-year-old was arrested in Mercer County on Tuesday for allegedly trying to steal a vehicle with two young children inside and killing their father during the encounter.It happened back on July 12 around 10:20 p.m. at Garfield and Farragut avenues in Trenton, New Jersey.Video in the player above is from a previous report.Authorities say Johny Emmanuel Cruz-Rodriguez, 27, was standing near the back of a Dodge Durango with the back hatch open. His two children were inside the car.That's when police say a suspect got into the car and tried to drive away.Before the suspect could flee the scene, however, Cruz-Rodriguez reportedly tried to climb into the back of the car.RELATED | 'Heroic action': NJ father killed trying to protect his 2 children during carjacking attemptThe suspect then allegedly opened fire on Cruz-Rodriguez.Authorities say the car crashed into two parked vehicles a short distance away.The Mercer County Prosecutor said both children were unharmed, but Cruz-Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.The juvenile suspect has since been charged with murder, carjacking, endangering the welfare of a child, and other related offenses.Investigators say his name is being withheld due to him being a minor.
