Janet Jackson Reveals Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman And Samuel. L Jackson Are Her Cousins

Janet Jackson has an impressive family background that’s even more remarkable than many realize.

Her family tree includes notable names that might come to a surprise. Among her cousins are the legendary Stevie Wonder, acclaimed singer Tracy Chapman, and renowned actor Samuel L. Jackson!

She shared the announcement during her appearance on Scott Mills’ BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show. Specifically, Stevie is a third cousin once removed of Janet’s mother, Katherine, on her family side. Janet’s connections with Tracy and Samuel L. are less clear.

In contrast, Janet and Stevie share a long-standing relationship. Both the Jackson family and Stevie were part of the Motown label. In 2008, Janet honored Stevie by presenting him with a Hall of Fame Award during the NAACP Image Awards held in Los Angeles.

Janet is currently in London as part of her “Together Again” tour, and she shared with Scott her plans to pay tribute to her brother, Michael, during her performance and said, “I love that song and I guess it’s just a homage to my brother and us working together and those memories and people go crazy when he appears [on the concert screen] they just love it so it’s nice.”
