On Tuesday, rapper and singer Quando Rondo pleaded guilty in federal court, changing his previous not-guilty plea.

As previously reported, Rondo, born Tyquian Terrel Bowman, was arrested back in December and indicted on charges of conspiring with others to possess and distribute drugs, including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. The 25-year-old artist pled guilty to a single count of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana, according to local news outlets. By changing his plea to a lesser charge, he waives his right to a jury trial. Rondo faces a potential sentence of up to five years in prison for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana and is set to be sentenced on December 12.

While outside the federal courthouse, he addressed the community while speaking with reporters, stating, “I just want everybody to know I’m a changed person. I’m changing every day, and God has the last say so. I want to apologize to the city of Savannah, my family and friends, loved ones, and most of all, my daughters for putting them through this stressful time.”

He reiterated his message, saying, “It doesn’t matter the circumstances. It doesn’t matter how bad something is. God could bring you out of anything. I’m walking by faith and not by sight. Nothing can break me; it’s just going to make me even stronger.”

Rondo, who still faces state gun and drug charges in Chatham County (GA) Superior Court, concluded, “I’m forever gonna rap! Nothing can affect my music. Just remember, don’t judge a book by its cover; you have to read it first.”
