Kathmandu, a Hebrew-language drama series starring Gal Gadot, is now available for streaming globally for the first time, exclusively on the IZZY platform. Originally aired in Israel, this 13-episode series, which follows the story of a Chabad Hasidic family in Nepal, gives international audiences a glimpse into Gadot’s early career before her rise to Hollywood fame.

The series centers around a young Hasidic couple as they navigate the challenges of running a Chabad house in Kathmandu, Nepal, providing support to Jewish travelers. Against the scenic and remote Himalayan backdrop, Kathmandu explores themes of faith, family, and identity, with Gadot delivering a notable performance in one of her few Hebrew-speaking roles. The show is now available with subtitles in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Gal Gadot, who gained international stardom with her portrayal of Wonder Woman in the DC film franchise, has a career that spans both Israeli and Hollywood productions. Before achieving global fame, Gadot appeared in Israeli television and film, including her role in Kathmandu, which showcases her early talent in her home country’s entertainment industry. Gadot’s transition to international fame began with her appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise, and she has since become a leading actress in Hollywood, recognized for her roles in major blockbusters.

Gadot is set to star as the Evil Queen in the highly anticipated live-action remake of Disney’s 1937 animated classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film, directed by Marc Webb and written by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, is scheduled for release in March 2025.

The series’ worldwide debut on IZZY marks a significant moment for the platform, which specializes in bringing Israeli content to international audiences. “Bringing Kathmandu to a global audience through IZZY is a game-changer,” said Nati Dinnar, Co-founder & CEO of IZZY. “Gal Gadot’s involvement in this series is a testament to the strength and quality of Israeli storytelling. It’s particularly exciting for us to introduce the world to her early work in Hebrew, offering fans a glimpse of her journey before she became a global superstar.”

The premiere of Kathmandu follows IZZY’s recent launch of French, Spanish, and Portuguese subtitles for over 100 titles, which aims to make Israeli movies and TV shows more accessible to a broader global audience. The addition of Kathmandu further strengthens IZZY’s role as a key platform for exploring Israeli culture and entertainment.

Founded in 2020, IZZY has rapidly expanded its library of Israeli-produced films, documentaries, and TV series, with Kathmandu as one of its latest additions. The platform now offers over 800 hours of content with subtitles in multiple languages, aimed at making Israeli stories more accessible to international viewers. With more than 60,000 subscribers in over 60 countries, IZZY has positioned itself as a key player in the international streaming landscape, showcasing the diversity of Israeli culture and entertainment.
